November 29th is Small Business Saturday!

Before you go off looking for deals, first understand that
cheap goods are not always the best deal
But also, remember to ask yourself this:
Which stores are most likely to go away if not enough people shop in them?
Then, ask yourself if you're okay with that.

Positive ION Rebelmouse Newsletter

Perhaps you wonder, "Why haven't you been posting as much, Lee?"

I venture, "Have you checked out my Rebelmouse presence?"
You ask, "What the heck is Rebelmouse?"
I say, "Scroll down below this blog entry page and take a look."

Rebelmouse gathers news items from where I ask it to do so, and puts them together almost like a little online newspaper.

When Positive ION posts on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, it goes right here:

Go ahead. Check it out. I'll wait.

   Back?

   Cool.
In turn, I ask Blogger to post the top news from my Rebelmouse page right below my blog post. You can scroll down below this entry and check it out. It updates every time I post to Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram as Positive ION. Furthermore, I can direct Rebelmouse to look for any post from these places from any
user or with any hashtag. That's why you will see posts from Downtown Mount Clemens, too.
So, I'm posting all the time... even when I'm not posting a blog entry!

Thursday & Friday Night!

Snow gotcha down in the dumps? Here's a couple of things you could do for fun...

Every Thursday night is Weirdsville Movie Night at Weirdsville Records (36 New Street in Downtown Mount Clemens, inside Used on New Books & More)... and tonight is no exception! The feature for March 13th is the 1982 classic, Tron. If you have never experienced Weirdsville Movie Night, you really should check it out. Do not expect to see super-serious, trendy, avant-garde film fanatics soberly analyzing little-known flicks, here... it is more like being in the silhouette audience of Mystery Science Theater 3000. Don't take my word for it, just head on down there tonight, have a few laughs, and don't forget to tell 'em I sentcha!

Tomorrow evening (March 14th) at The Loft Fine Art Gallery (38807 Harper in Clinton Township), there will be an Opening Reception for a fabulous exhibit of Italian landscapes and city scenes entitled Buon Viaggio: A Visitor's Tour of Italy. The exhibit (presented under the auspices of the Italian Consulate of Detroit) features paintings arranged geographically to give the suggestion of a journey through Italy within the gallery, including Venice, Tuscany, and other picturesque destinations.
So, enjoy light refreshments and good company while you take a vacation far away from the Michigan weather. Details are on the flyer, which I have posted below.

Sat, March 1st... An Afternoon of Art: The Works of Judy Munro!

Please join me at The Loft Fine Art Gallery (on Harper in Clinton Township)
from 1:00 - 4:00pm on Saturday, March 1st
for An Afternoon of Art (see flyer below for details).
There will be light refreshments,  good company, and a lot of beautiful artwork
from a fabulously imaginative local painter!
The Judy Munro exhibit, "Michigan Landscapes and Urban Impressions",
will remain on display there through March 7th.

Judy Munro was employed for many years as the Director of
Creative Marketing Services for then-local Lionel Train in Chesterfield, MI.
When her department was moved to New York in 2009,
she faced a number of decisions.
Ultimately, she returned to her creative roots
and jumped headlong into the world of art.
In her first year as a full-fledged artist she painted 250 works of art.
The pieces are wondrously enjoyable and her
compelling style of composition and vivid colors make
her works very visually engaging.
I strongly urge you to come by and check them out!
Here is the flyer for the March 1st event:
